The Girl Effect is the Nike Foundation’s not-for-profit organisation that is driven by the belief that girls are the most powerful force for change on the planet. In 2013 they asked us to: “Use the voice of the girl to create insight, narrative and interaction so irresistible that it is impossible not to engage with the Girl Declaration.” The result was a Webby nominated interactive HTML5 website. The site is no longer live but the video below provides an overview of the experience.
The Girl Effect - Voices of 2015
A 2-minute video walk-through and case study of the experience.
We let the girls speak for themselves by bringing to life recordings of 500 girls’ ambitions from 14 different countries to create a stunning interactive environment. Here visitors could listen to the girls’ voices, receive insights about the power of girls to change the world and sign up support the Girl Declaration.
The website was nominated for a 2014 Webby Award. An army of key influencers including Hilary Clinton and Oprah Winfrey, as well as many global charities signed up to support the Girl Declaration.
Proposal for an interactive gesture-driven version of the experience driven by Kinect motion sensing.
